4bit digital compass

 Image
Here's a nifty project I found off of Hackaday - how to build your own 16 point (4bit) digital compass. Instead of using the popular 3bit Dinsmore compass the author decided to build his own.

The author attached a magnet to a reflective encoding disk. Using four infrared photoreflectors he was able to read the position of the disk and thefore the magnet.

For those that aren't so clever as to create your own electric compass, the popular Devantech compass works.

Digital Voltmeter.

Build an inexpressive 0.1 - 199.9V LCD digital voltmeter that can be easily configured as amper and temperature meter. This module is based on a popular ICL7106 IC that can measure its own voltage supply and offers very low power consumption. Link

Build BH1417 Stereo PLL FM Transmitter

This is the latest BH1417 FM Transmitter design from RHOM that includes a lot of features in one small package. It comes with pre-emphasis, limiter so that the music can be transmitted at the same audio level, stereo encoder for stereo transmission, low pass filter that blocks any audio signals above 15KHz to prevent any RF interference, PLL circuit that provides rock solid frequency transmission which means no more frequency drift, FM oscillator and RF output buffer. New TX200 transmitter with optional PLL and stereo encoder.

Here is the latest and greatly improved TX200 VFO/VCO FM transmitter. The most versatile transmitter to date that can be turned into high fidelity stereo PLL based 200mW FM transmitter. It is a perfect circuit for transmitting your music around the house and yard. TX200 uses only two coils; one in the oscillator and the other one in the 200mW VHF amplifier so it should be fairly easy for anyone to build. Link

RF-Condenser microphone circuit

Hf-Mic Hires
Here's how to make a RF-Condenser microphone circuit that's similar to a Sennheiser MKH series mic, Uwe writes - "This RF-circuit is operating at 7.68 MHz and 48 V phantom power supplied. It is tested with a large diaphragm cardioid capsule from Ralf Falk, who himself is designing a LF tube microphone and with a small diaphragm capsule from a Sennheiser MKH415... Lots of experiments, gathered experiences and improvements during the development - with quite satisfactory results, to my point of view." - Link.

Washing Microcontroller Timer

Washing machine, after modification (14.832 Bytes)Did you ever face that, your washing m/c already run out the mechanical timer dial? After using for several times, the dial gir may worn out, and than it can not move anyhow.

Many washing m/c shell in the market has mechanical controlled sequence for activated the timer and the sequence back and forth for their motor; washing motor or spinning motor. Spinning motor control only has one direction only, and its simple could be changed to the discrete mechanical timer which sell on the market. But washing motor control has 2 direction for this purpose, it means to squeeze the clothes, it must go to forward and then reversed. Link
